The head of an air show claims that Saudi Arabia may serve as a Middle Eastern aviation center.
Riyadh - Ahead of this year's Saudi General Aviation
Airshow,
the head of the Saudi Aviation Club stated on
Wednesday that
the Kingdom is dedicated to being a premier
aviation hub for the Middle East.
The event, also called Sand & Fun 2024, will take
place at Al-Thumamah
Airport in Riyadh from November 19 to 23.
Prince Sultan bin Salman, the club's founder and
chairman,
stated that the program was crucial to the
development
of the country's aviation industry.
"Sand and Fun 2024 demonstrates the Kingdom's
commitment
to developing a flourishing aviation sector that will motivate future generations.
"We are dedicated to establishing Saudi Arabia as a regional aviation
leader through Vision 2030, encouraging
innovation,
and providing opportunities for our young people."
The club's director general, Dr. Ahmed bin Fahad
Alfahaid, stated:
"This event is more than just a display of aviation
in the Kingdom."
We will be able to influence the future of aviation
in Saudi Arabia
and the region thanks to this meeting of minds
and ideas.
Our goal as the Saudi Aviation Club is to expand
the number of pilots,
aircraft, and airports.
With additional partners like the General Authority of Civil Aviation,
we must expand our numbers.
"Sand & Fun 2024 acts as an inspiration for young Saudis
interested in aviation vocations, supporting
the Kingdom's
aspirations to create a professional and
passionate workforce in this area,"
stated Capt. Fareess Muneer, a member of the
club's board.
The event, which will showcase the newest
developments in aviation technology,
interactive exhibits, and aerial displays,
is attracting over 100 exhibitors
from around the globe.
An estimated 100,000 people are anticipated
to attend.
The SkyVentures Air Show, which will showcase
the aerobatic creativity of over 15
international teams, including the Saudi Hawks
and the Phoenix Paramotors Display Team
from Poland,
is probably going to be the main event.
